Frequently Asked Questions
?What pipe sizes does this kit cover?⌄
Two heads: 1/2" pipe and 3/4" pipe. These cover the vast majority of household water lines, garden hose connections, and standard irrigation runs in US homes.
?Do I need a special drill?⌄
No. The 1/4" universal hex shank fits every cordless drill, corded drill, and most powered screwdrivers. A 12V cordless or higher gives the cleanest cut.
?How long does each head last?⌄
Heat-treated to HRC 55+, each head cuts 500+ clean threads in normal household use. The anti-corrosion coating keeps it sharp through wet jobs and damp tool-bag storage.
?What materials can it thread?⌄
PVC, copper, brass, black iron, and thin-wall galvanized — the standard household pipe you actually run into. It's not built for hardened conduit or rebar.
?Do I need cutting oil?⌄
No. It cuts clean threads dry on PVC and copper. A drop of oil helps on harder metals and extends head life, but it's optional.
?I've never threaded pipe before — is it hard?⌄
No. Clamp the pipe, line up the head, and let your drill do the work. Most first-timers cut a clean thread on the very first pull.
?What if I don't like it?⌄

Cut my first pipe thread on the first try. No previous plumbing experience. Was honestly bracing for it to be harder than it was.

Messed up the threads on my bathroom sink supply line with a cheap tool. This kit re-cut them clean. No leaks for three weeks now.

I'm a traveling handyman — this lives in my drill bag now. Beats hauling the threading machine for one-off cuts.

Six months of weekly use and the cutters still look fresh. My old set needed replacement every couple months.

Used the small head on a worn pipe and the big head on a new connector — both clean. Saved me buying two separate tools.

My plumber friend mentioned this. Now I do my own pipe work and only call him for the big stuff.

Garden hose adapter at 7 PM Sunday. Hardware store closed. Cut my own from a PVC scrap — fixed in 15 minutes.

My first plumbing repair ever. Saved $200 on a plumber to swap a bathroom valve. Walked through it with a YouTube video.

Works great on PVC and copper. Tried it on galvanized and the dies skipped — not what it's for, but worth knowing.

Bought it for one job. Used it on four projects the same month. Now lives in the kitchen drawer.

My DeWalt 20V handled it without breaking a sweat. 10 seconds per thread, square and clean.

Replaced a stripped 3/4" line under the sink myself. Estimate was $275. Spent $49. Sunday afternoon done.

Drip irrigation in the backyard needed five different threaded ends. Cut them all from one PVC scrap. Worked exactly like the video.

Pool pump fitting kept stripping. Re-threaded it with the 3/4" head and it's held perfect for two months.

30 years as a contractor. This kit covers 80% of small pipe jobs without dragging the big machine off the truck.
RV freshwater system needed a 1/2" thread adapter. Made one from a leftover PVC scrap at the campsite. No supply run.
Cuts beautifully on plastic and copper. The shank fits my drill but rotates slightly under heavy load — minor.
My husband's been putting off the sprinkler repair for months. I did it myself with this in 25 minutes.
$49 for the 2-set was honestly fair. Already paid for itself on the first leak repair I didn't have to outsource.
Cut threads on copper for the first time. Used a little oil, dies went through like butter. Pro-level result.
